ExtremeTech reports that Microsoft has filed for a patent that allows Kinect to monitor the number of viewers in the room. It then cross-checks this with the maximum number of viewers permitted by the licence that a user agrees to when purchasing or renting content.

If it is deemed that too many people are present, the user will be prompted to pay an additional fee to upgrade the licence.

I think this is more speculation than anything at this point. I believe this patent (or a very similar patent) was actually filed back in November, but nothing came out of it. It’s ridiculous how badly Microsoft is fucking up with the Xbox One. There’s literally nothing right about it at this point, they’re getting everything wrong.

People are complaining that you can play as a dog in Call of Duty Ghosts. They are complaining because you can’t play as a girl. Who gives a shit? Just pretend your character is a girl if you have to, there are no mirrors, and your character is referred to by their last name, if at all. You never see your character; who you’re playing as is entirely irrelevant. I could be playing as a hermaphrodite Altoids tin for all I know, it doesn’t fucking matter. The only characteristic in the game that really allows you to discern your gender is the grunting noises you make when you climb over things; are you really getting all up-in-arms because your character doesn’t make feminine sounding noises when you press a button?

The ability to play as a man (a pair of legs that make masculine noises), or a dog, is not an example of misogyny. Super anal social justice victim complex people need to calm down and stop trying to make everything out to be sexist PATRIARCHY MISOGYNISTS WOMYN UNITE 5EVER YOU GO GRRL
